The day started off full of promise, beautiful cherry blossoms on the trees downtown, and then I ran into Lara on her way to work, which was a nice start to an earlier-than-usual morning for me. And then the hearing from hell commenced. First my computer decided not to recognize my steno machine, giving me a serious panic attack from which I almost didn’t recover. I managed without the laptop for the first couple hours and then my hero/husband came downtown and fixed it for me. The bulk of the day was filled with fast talking and complete lunacy from a woman who seemed to be a professional grudge holder and a champion embellisher of stories. I was so exhausted and my brain was so fried by the end of the eight hours (punctuated nicely with a one-hour lunch break with Lara) that I barely had the mental acuity to make it home on the skytrain/bus. Ugh! Tomorrow, day two.

  1. I loved running into you on my way to work! And I love the picture. I look forward to those cherry blossoms every year, and I get to walk by them twice a day!
