Home away from home. Tonight one of the lawyers phoned up to see if I wanted to join him and two panel members from the hearing for dinner. We managed to find a fantastic restaurant called Villa 46 (I could be wrong. We drank a fair bit of wine and I’m feeling a bit tipsy). I have about 30 pages of editing to do before bed, so I’d better get started. What could go wrong?
Sunset at Terrace. A sunny day today, a nice change. There are a lot of mountains around here. The hearing today went smoothly, although I’m not super thrilled about the new 8:30 a.m. start time. And I had to stray from Denny’s and explore the town a little tonight in search of a better restaurant. I managed to get a decent meal at Don Diego’s, and I really enjoyed the Kahlua creme brulee for dessert. Yum!
ooooooo
That’s pretty.
Yes, the Sandman Hotel has a little swimming pool. I was finally able to test out the waterproof capabilities of my new little camera! What fun! First day of the hearing was pretty good. Not too fast, very civilized. Terrace is an ugly town, from what I can see.
You’re so cute underwater. I always suspected that you were part mermaid. Glad the discovery is going well – too bad the town isn’t showing well. Maybe it’s one of those places that shows its charms out of town…
Aren’t you adorable. :D Glad the hotel has a pool.
Honey, you have something attached to your nose.
Nice smile. Glad the underwater function is working on the camera.
xxoo
Here’s the plane I flew to Terrace in, a little Dash-8. The flight was uneventful, although the captain announced at one point that we may not be able to land in Terrace due to fog. But it turned out to be fine, thank god! And now I’m at the Sandman Hotel, all settled into my room. I may have a little snooze and then head down to Denny’s for dinner. Yup, Denny’s. Not a favourite of mine. Guess I’d better get used to it though because that’s what I’m in for for the next 10 days.
I miss you already. :(
mmmm, bacon
mmmm…..pan scramblers…..oh wait! i think that might be humptys….at least you don’t have to cook! :)
Today I spent the morning editing transcripts. Yuck. In the afternoon Braeden and Toby came over for a visit. Braeden worked on a craft project while Toby napped, and then we watched some Roadrunner (classic! still funny!) and played a few video games. For dinner, we picked up some Greek food and brought it over to Julie and Jess’s place, along with the boys, and had a nice time eating and visiting. Tomorrow I board a plane to Terrace, where I’ll be working for 10 days on a hearing. I hope there’s a lot of photo-worthy scenery!
Me too! I can’t wait to see the pictures.
Aww – cute pictures Kels. They boys LOVE going to your house. Thanks again for watching them and for bringing dinner over too. Our nights of working on the house are over!
omg, that shack has a boardroom in it too?
Hopefully it’s nicer inside then outside.
xxoo
well, you can’t actually see the hotel i’m staying in in this photo. you can just see the sign. the hotel is to the far right, just out of the photo. it’s slightly better than the shack.
Whew…I thought that nasty looking motel was your home away from home. Mmmm Denny’s.
how did the drunk editing work out for you? :)
not bad!
Fun that you’ve found a few people to socialize with and a better restaurant for dinner.
Hey, leave me a comment!!
